Description
The CONNECT research centre is one of 12 national Research Centres funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). It undertakes basic and applied research into Future Networks and Communications, has funding in excess of €50 million, and consists of 10 university partners and 37 industry partners. When fully up and running, the Centre will comprise of over 200 researchers, students and staff.
CONNECT aims to consolidate and expand Ireland’s position as an international leader in the field of telecommunications research and to establish new benchmarks in the translation of this research into quantifiable and meaningful economic and societal benefits; for example, in the form of new products and services for both industry and consumers, new jobs, and for the further development of the society at large.
