Role Summary/Purpose:

The Electrical Project Engineer will have engineering responsibility for new unit packages for the Gasturbine business. Providing project leadership and engineering support, the candidate will be responsible for the design and execution of new units. Seeking an energetic, customer-focused engineer with excellent communication and project management skills looking to develop their technical leadership and project execution skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will interface with customers, manufacturing, project managers, sourcing, and design engineering. This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to develop and demonstrate skills necessary for an engineering technical leadership role.

  • Execution of new unit packages for the Gasturbine business - this includes ownership of project-specific bills of materials, drawings and related internal and external customer documents
  • Develop and modify existing standard CADD drawings to reflect customer-specific project requirements
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Serve as primary interface for engineering on technical issues with manufacturing, sourcing, project management, field installation, and end customer
  • Coordinate changes to project requirements with Sales, Project Management, Sourcing, and Production teams
  • Act as conduit between factory floor and engineering design team for any design change requirements
  • Provide general technical support to all Gasturbine Project teams during OTR Handoff and execution
  • Provide support to Field Engineering group during installation and Warranty

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MSC in Electrical Engineering and min 3 years of experience or BSC in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Focus on customer service and fulfilment
  • Highly organized self-starter with strong technical and leadership skills
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Significant electrical engineering experience in the power industry
  • Previous experience designing or installing GE Energy turbine packages
  • Familiarity with the design and specification of complete power plant electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of GE gas turbines and packages
  • Green Belt certified (GE employees only)
  • Demonstrated project management skills including coordinating activities across functions
  • PC proficiency
