The current position is for a Senior Structural Engineer with suitable SIM experience to provide offshore design, assessment and analysis capability, with the intent of taking an increasingly active role in the management of projects.
The position will be deputy team leader for the Aberdeen SIM group and comes with fantastic career prospects with a view to progressing to Team Leader over the long term.
Key Accountabilities:
- To enhance the design, assessment and analysis capability within the SIM business stream.
- To successfully deliver design, assessment and analysis scopes of work in accordance with international codes and standards within the QMS to budget and to schedule.
- To support developing new business, including the preparation of technical proposals.
- Where appropriate to help train other personnel in offshore design and analysis.
- Depending on experience and abilities, responsible for ensuring technical quality in the appropriate field(s).
Key Outputs:
- Delivery of high quality work for clients, to schedule and within budget.
- Timely delivery of technical content to proposals and tenders
- Coaching and mentoring team to build technical expertise
- Ad-hoc presentations to clients as required in support of project delivery and business development
- Achievement of annual personal utilisation target of 85% chargeable hours
- Adherence to Company Brand Protection, HSE and quality procedures.
Position Qualifications
- Qualified to degree level and a chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
- Demonstrable track record of successful delivery of design and analysis scopes.
- Detailed knowledge of the relevant codes, such as API RP2A and ISO.
- Skilled and practiced knowledge of commonly used offshore analysis packages, such as ASAS, SACS, SESAM, ABAQUS and USFOS.
- Experience in training and mentoring of junior team members an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills, adept in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable to support senior colleagues at client meetings.
