Job Purpose
Complete all required CAD duties to support Component Engineers. Main role is suspension and subframe design including progression through to part drawings.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Support Chassis component Engineers with component and system designs in NX.
- Complete studies on Subframe concepts, integration and attaching methods.
- Model Chassis components and perform dynamic clearance checks.
- Prepare detail drawings & models in support of the Release process.
- Contribute effectively to team technical discussions to ensure that the Component Engineers understand the effects of design changes.
- Support problem solving/quality teams as directed by management.
- Attend packaging meetings if required.
- Keep abreast of technical developments within the industry, with particular reference to the evolution of NX.
- Work with Manufacturing and Service to minimise assembly and service times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline.
- 5 years minimum experience within an automotive or automotive components supplier group.
- Minimum 3 year full time working in NX.
- Fully capable with 2D drafting.
- Working knowledge of Suspension, Braking, and Steering systems including the use of kinematic models to manipulate components.
- Good working knowledge of VIS Mockup and Team Centre.
- AMPCS knowledge or equivalent process knowledge (GPDS , FPDS).
- Able to work as part of a small team and actively participate in creation and development of innovative design solutions within the CAD environment.
- Strong time management , accuracy , diligence , ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet customer needs.
