Join DONG Energy and become Specialist in the Wind Turbines - Risk & Technology Assessment team. We are responsible for evaluating the technical qualification level of new wind turbine concepts in direct cooperation with the turbine suppliers, as well as managing concept improvement activities on contracted wind turbines. The results from our analyses are used for decision making on contracting of new turbines and as input to our asset project risk registers.

The department is part of Wind Power which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility

As our Specialist in risk assessment, you are responsible for ensuring that risks identified in our technology qualification projects of new wind turbines design and supply are properly estimated and evaluated. Additionally, you are responsible for our processes, tools, and methodologies for the team.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • facilitate and/or participate in HAZID workshops, for example Failure Mode Effects Analysis
  • lead the development of risk scenario descriptions using relevant methodologies as well as and quality assure parts of the technical risk assessment reports
  • ensure a high level of quality and clarity in our communication on the risks identified
  • continuously grow the competency level within risk estimation as well as the understanding in our department and peer departments
  • take part in cross-organisational risk assessment initiatives.

Your profile

You hold a master of science degree in engineering or similar and have at least a couple of years of experience with technical risk assessment. You have a strong analytical mind set, and you are familiar with risk analysis and estimation methodologies, such as fault tree and event tree analysis, barrier diagrams, Bayesian networks, Monte Carlo simulation, etc. It is an advantage but not a requirement that you have knowledge of wind turbine technology and offshore construction projects.

In the projects, you cooperate with colleagues with varying backgrounds and across different organisational levels. Thus, good communication skills, verbally and in writing, combined with strong interpersonal skills are key to succeed in this position. Fluency in English is furthermore required.
