ELECTRONIC ENGINEER SYSTEM-ON-CHIP DESIGNER FOR FUTURE SPACE PROJECTS - H/F – CDD 18 Months

In the “on board data handling “service, the candidate will work in the development of "System On Chip" (SoC) ASIC or FPGA dedicated to onboard computers and / or processing cards for payloads. He will be in charge in particular:
- to evaluate SoC designs under development as part of projects under the responsibility of CNES and its partners (Solar Orbiter project, Exomars for example).
-to Participate in adapting new VHDL IPs, from the commercial world (ARM, Ethernet, CAN, ...) or not, in view of their use in a embedded avionics (eg processors, management memories, communication bus)
-to participate in the study of new developments SoC, based on multi-core architectures, using design tools and modeling (C / C ++, Matlab, SystemC, VHDL) available within the service.
-to perform the associated mock-ups on starterkit or FPGA.


-Applicant profile :
Engineer or equivalent with strong knowledge in the embedded data handling sub system, developing hardware / embedded I / Os and peripherals software components. Proficiency in programming languages C / C ++ and knowledge of VHDL (FPGA) language is essential. Knowledge of signal processing would be better.
Good level of French and English required. 1-3 years experience.
As possible, knowledge of space system projects,
Precision and method, autonomy, teamwork.

Within « Techniques Véhicule, Architecture & Intégration » division, The "on board data handling" service (DCT/TV/IN) operates at the embedded Computing subsystem of the satellite. It covers the areas of on-board computer for spacecraft and payloads, hardware elements embedded computing (computers, data bus, terminals, etc...), the architecture of payload data processing and related equipment (compressors, mass storage, encoders, etc...) and the design of digital electronic boards and equipment (including the use of the VHDL language. It owns technical means (digital electronics lab, computer lab board) to achieve its mission.
