Description
The Supply chain director is the owner of the Sales & Operations Planning process within the Division. He/she interacts with all parties from within the Division and outside the Division (in other Barco Departments and outside) to balance demand, supply and inventory, while minimizing the risks. He/she has a pivotal role in the interaction between the Sales, Strategic Mkt, Finance, Operations and Purchase.
The main accountabilities in this position are:
- Owns the S&OP process of the division;
- Manages a team of 5 to 10 people responsible for S&OP, forecasting, inventory management;
- Drives participation of all key business team members (Sales, Strategic Mkt, Product management, R&D, Operations, Purchasing and Planning) in the S&OP process;
- Manages alignment of the market unit strategies with the divisional objectives, customer service levels and supply strategy;
- Minimizes the business risks (of missed sales or too high working capital) by finding the best solution for the business (with its customers, demand patterns, product life cycles);
- Notifies the business team of any recommended changes to the business or strategic plans as a result of the S&OP process;
- Strives for continuous improvement of the demand creation process;
- Manages the finished goods inventory plan, in close cooperation with the business unit managers within the division;
- Manages the forecasting process of the peripherals within the division;
- Monitors the supply chain KPI tree and initiate actions if necessary;
- Actively follows up and takes the lead in reduction programs of slow moving inventory.
Qualifications
- Education: Master degree and APICS certification or similar;
- Substantial experience in supply chain: 10 - 15 years;
- Experience in driving improvement projects;
- S&OP business process knowledge;
- Experience in working in an international environment;
- Experience in SAP is a plus;
- Ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently;
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
- Good understanding of global demand and supply relationships;
- Solid understanding of Market Units/Division demand & supply characteristics.
