Senior Rotating Components Design Engineer

Role Summary/Purpose:

He/she will perform for both new product introduction as well as more mature programs including creating and/or overseeing the creation of models and drawings within the Rotating Component Design organization. He/she will work closely with module / systems engineers and manufacturing representatives to provide accurate and timely component definitions, having the opportunity to network with a broad number of functions across the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a design team member providing definition of responsible components deliverables that meet customer, partner, and program needs.
  • Create and take responsibility for definition of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D drawings, 3D reusable models in a linked model environment, tolerance stack-ups, and various other electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality, and inspection within expected cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Work with engineering and supply chain partners to determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing producibility.
  • Concurrently manage multiple projects to ensure program cost, quality, and schedule requirements are met.
  • Liaise with overseas teams to support effective planning and delivery of outcome to meet programme timing. Participate on teams through supporting or independent tasks.
  • Component ownership. Support and coordinate activities with other Company Departments.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of computer aided design (CAD), preferably in Siemens Unigraphics NX.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • EU work permit.
  • English and Italian fluency.
