Job Description

The plant change engineer is responsible for safe and efficient delivery of a portfolio of small project type modifications to process equipment on the site. The plant change engineer coordinates the preparation, technical review and authorization, field execution, and as-built documentation of each change.

The plant change process is a key element of 'management of change'. Modifications to process equipment can have significant impact on the safety, product quality, production capacity and reliability of our units. The purpose of the plant change engineer is to coordinate the preparation, execution and completion of each modification in a safe and responsible way, with a clear focus on schedule and cost.

Modifications are typically made to process equipment to make the unit safer and/or to improve the asset's value generation. The plant change engineer plays a critical role in delivering these important improvements to the site.

Requirements

  • Engineering background and/or demonstrable experience with project or plantchange execution;
  • Basic knowlegde of risks in petrochemical/oil&gas facilities including process safety risks, product quality and reliability;
  • Ability to lead people through a work process, managing stakeholder interaction and driving progress;
  • Experienced interaction with an engineering contractor and its processes to deliver required results (Authority packages, RFC packages, As-built);
  • Strong people skills to interact with many stakeholders (including discipline specialist such as Process Engineering, Inspection, Reliability, Rotating, Civil, etc.);
  • Strong drive to deliver safe and responsible outcome while challenging scope, cost and timing.
