Post-doctoral position – Electrode materials for Na-ion batteries

In recent years Li-ion batteries have reached very interesting performances in terms energy density and cycle life. Nevertheless, the fast development of large-scale energy storage systems has induced a growing interest in abundant and low-cost materials. Sodium presents characteristics close to those of lithium while being both, relatively cheap and 1000 times more abundant than lithium. This post-doc position will deal with preparation and scale up of new sodium-based electrode materials synthesis routes. These materials will have crystal structures adapted to Na-ion insertion in order to reach the highest energy density possible at lower cost.

This position is open until it is filled.
