Our client is Britain's largest manufacturer of chocolate and novelty confectionery. Due to expansion they now seek a Maintenance Engineer to add their existing team.

Job description:

The maintenance engineers role is to ensure that all breakdowns, changeovers, continuous improvement activity and engineering work is carried out in a timely fashion and that the work done is within the polices that are laid out. Other key responsibilities lie with the improvement of quality for all aspects of the products and engineering practices.

Key responsibilities:

• To ensure all engineering work is balanced between production and engineering requirements;
• To ensure all work is captured and recorded and completed within the given times;
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety, company policies and procedures;
• Ensure that the right first time approach is the key principle throughout all work undertaken within the role;
• Ensure business priorities are met by building strong working relationships with Production, Technical, Quality and Hygiene teams;
• Using engineering skills for the repair, installation and refurbishment of all plant and equipment; manufacturing and installing parts as required;
• Contribute to continuous improvement, devising and implementing innovative engineering solutions. Ensure all improvements are recorded;
• Follow good manufacturing practice at all times ensuring standards are maintained and improved;
• Pass on skills and knowledge to improve engineering cross functionality;
• Ensure that the maintenance schedules and Non Conformances are completed on time so that we are always ready for any audit (internal or external);
• Ensure that housekeeping in all engineering areas is always at the highest standard;
• All maintenance work to be completed to the highest standard with the emphasis on a lasting solution;
• All tasks delegated by the engineering management team.
