The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer to help build a new open-source software and analytics platform for precision (or "personalized") cancer medicine.

The Senior Bioinformatics Engineer is an exceptional candidate who has both bioinformatics experience and extensive software engineering experience. We operate at the crossroads of cancer genomics and software, and are looking for that rare individual who has experience and passion for both.
Our platforms are focused on mining of cancer genomic data sets, understanding resistance to targeted therapy, and identifying exceptional responders to targeted therapy. Technical and scientific challenges for this position include data mining and visualization of large-scale cancer genomic data sets, extracting information from natural language text and building web-based data analytics platforms.
Required skills: Bachelor's degree, Master Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field. 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in the bioinformatics or cancer genomics space. Expert knowledge of Java and Spring. Strong interest in contributing to biological research with clinical applications. Experience in modern software development technologies, including distributed versioning systems, continuous integration, and Agile programming practices.
