Research Fellow in Sustainable Production

Cranfield University is looking for a creative and enthusiastic research fellow to support the delivery of the EPSRC funded Network in Redistributed Manufacturing, Consumer Goods and Big Data (RECODE) and its activities. 

This is an exciting opportunity to carry out cutting-edge research investigating new models of sustainable production and consumption and the opportunity to work with a broad range of academic and industrial experts across the areas of Manufacturing, Design, Consumer Goods Production and Big Data.

Description

You will have a passion for working with professionals from across academic and industrial sectors to carry out outstanding and applied research. The role will require confidence in regularly liaising with network partners, funding bodies and stakeholders to co-ordinate research activities and facilitate a collegiate response to opportunities for research funding and network growth. 

As part of the vibrant and active community within the Centre for Competitive Creative Design (C4D) you will be pro-active in initiating and contributing to high quality research publications and proposals with the motivation to develop your own area of research expertise. The position will also provide the opportunity to contribute to our award winning postgraduate courses in Sustainability, Innovation and Design Strategy. 

With a proven track record in research, you will have a PhD (or near completion), or equivalent in professional qualifications and experience, in an area related to the themes of the network Design, Manufacture, Consumer Behaviour or Big Data. Experience and enthusiasm for working with industrial clients is desirable and knowledge of transformational models of production, such as the Circular Economy, would be an advantage. 

Full Time: 37 hours normally worked Monday to Friday or 18.5 hours (days of work to be negotiated)
