Remote Sensing in Greenland

We are seeking a colleague with expertise and experience in Remote Sensing, e.g. from satellite. We expect that you have a higher education degree in geophysics, engineering or similar.

You have experience with the collection, processing and structuring of remote sensing data. You are knowledgeable of the theories, methods and tools. You also have the required knowledge in geosciences, physics, mathematics, IT and GIS to ensure that the result of data processing is presented in a way that is easily accessible and directly applicable for our customers. You also have a flair for practical details.

Asiaq collects large amounts of data via remote sensing from satellites, drones, cameras and sensors in the air and on the ground. We use data for thematic and technical mapping in the fields of hydrology, climate, land surveying, terrain modelling and geotechnical engineering.

You will primarily work in interdisciplinary projects as a participant, supplier and advisor. You will also contribute to the communication and marketing of our services, and you must actively participate in ensuring the ongoing development and improvement of your work routines.

In cooperation with your colleagues, you will also contribute to the development and rationalisation of procedures, methods and data application in our new data infrastructure, which includes geospatial data, time series and other types of data.

There will be opportunities to participate in outdoor fieldwork as well as in scientific work.

Terms of employment and pay
The terms of employment and pay, including the right to hiring/severance travel and relocation expenses, are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the AC collective agreement.

An employee residence will be provided in accordance with the then-applicable rules. There may be waiting time for an employee residence, in which case a temporary residence may be provided. Rent and deposit are payable as stipulated by the rules. The employee residence must be vacated upon termination of employment.
