PhD Position – Development of Cryo Tomography for observation and chemical identification of nanoparticles in food, biological and sensitive environment

Within the frame of the Nanosafety center at the CEA :Grenoble development against the introduction and the risk of nanoparticles for environment and health, observation and chemical identification of nanoparticles structure is a main challenge. Tridimensional analytic techniques are now mandatory. 3D Electronic tomography is a very promising technique and could be very useful for observation of nanoparticles in biologic and/or very sensible environment if it could be coupled with a cryogenic sample preparation and cryogenic . This thesis, which is quite original and is dedicated to the development of biological and food sample preparation by cryogenic for observation and chemical identification of nanoparticles in sensitive environment by cryo-tomography and to address the link between chemical modification and toxicity.
