Development, deposition and characterization of transparent thin films for aesthetical applications

The research activity will be focused on the determination of the requirements for a coating material to be optically transparent and on the state of the art of the deposition of the selected coating materials by vacuum technologies (PECVD, PVD). The optical and protective properties (wear and corrosion) of the coatings manufactured by PECVD and/or PVD on substrates for aesthetical applications will be studied.
