Technologist position on Functional Materials for Biorobotics

IIT (www.iit.it) invites qualified senior applicants to submit their CVs for a Technologist position to manage the development and testing of functional materials for biorobotics and smart interfaces at the Center for Micro-BioRobotics (CMBR), located in Pontedera(PI).

Description

Your profile: candidates have a wide experience, with at least 5 years of post-doctoral activity supported by an established track record of publications in the development of functional materials and material-based components (including sensors and actuators) in the field of biorobotics and smart interfaces.

A background in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Bioengineering or a related field is mandatory.

International experience, strong team-building and communication skills are required. Additional experience in electronics will be considered a plus.

The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise the experimental activities on the development of new functional materials, surfaces/interfaces and devices based on electro-active and/or nanocomposite polymers, taking care of the instrumentation, infrastructure and the technical staff of the smart material laboratories (CMBR).

Responsibilities of the technologist will also include:

Advising on and assisting in the selection, purchase, installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Identification of competitive and industrial grants.
Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate tutoring.
Management of technology transfer issues.
